HOW DO I CARE FOR MY PIERCING?

If you have any questions about your piercing, just ask - we're always happy to help!

Saline solution is your best friend for taking care of your piercing. I do recommend only Saline Solution.

For all piercings during healing AVOID:

  • Moving or rotating your jewelry. This will dramatically slow the healing process and extend your healing time.

  • Touching your piercing in any way, particularly with unwashed hands, as this can increase the chance of infection and will slow the healing process. Ensure hands are clean every time if you absolutely must touch your piercing.

  • Overcleaning. Only clean your piercing as directed by your piercer. Overcleaning can result in slow healing.

  • Oral contact under any circumstances.

  • Sleeping on it - the constant pressure from this can change the angle that your piercing heals on and can cause unwanted irritation to the area.

  • Chlorinated water such as swimming pools as can cause irritation. Avoid pools and spas for the entire healing period prescribed by your piercer.

  • Changing your jewelry prior to the recommended healing period - you may damage the healing tissue and/or develop an infection in the process if not done in the correct environment.

  • Shampoo, conditioner residue, and soaps. Make sure you rinse these away thoroughly. Also, avoid direct contact with make-up and products such as hair sprays.

  • Restrictive clothing and/or unwashed linen. Cotton and breathable materials will benefit from synthetic materials.

  • Illicit drugs and alcohol consumption for the entire duration of the healing period (Especially with oral piercings). These substances will hinder your ability to successfully heal and can cause unnecessary bleeding, swelling, and bruising.

Remember to:

  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Contact your piercer if you have any questions or queries.

Please note: our best advice does not substitute for professional medical care. If you have any serious concerns regarding your piercing, we strongly advise seeking medical attention!
